Revel Performa Be Series
Revel’s Performa Be
Revel’s Performa Be series has earned several awards and accolades including the Stereophile Speaker of the Year Award. Designed for people who insist on impeccable sound. Nothing happens by accident! Revel’s development team has a world-class laboratory facility in Northridge, CA with a seemingly endless research and development budget. The all-new Beryllium tweeter helps the Be Series accomplish unparalleled detail and accuracy. In short, the Revel Be Series is a top-performing loudspeaker. Speaker aficionados often pick this speaker over competitors using rigorous subjective blind listening tests.
KEF LS60 Active Speakers
Don’t be fooled by the small footprint of these KEF active-powered speakers. Independent of their $7K price, the LS60’s is one of the most impressive speakers I’ve heard in 25 years of listening! Some call these “mini-Blades”. Minus the KEF Blade’s bottom-end and more impressive sound stage, my ears prefer the LS60’s over the Meta Blade’s. In fact, add a pair of small subs like the KEF KC62 sub and you will close the bottom-end gap in your favor. There is so much technology packed into these speakers I could go on for paragraphs. Like the patented Meta absorption technology that neutralizes the motor air from distorting the tweeter (which uncovered a better waveguide). The ultra-thin speaker width allows for the soundwaves to wrap with ease creating spatial depth. When compared to the active LS50 bookshelves in a side-by-side comparison, you can easily hear the holographic benefit of this thin package. The powerful active individual amps per speaker allow for ultra-short cabling creating a higher damping factor for driver control. DSP-controlled crossovers allow the best possible integration. Including the ability to use low-mass side woofers that can delineate perfect mid-bass resolution. Another big advantage is the software which helps placement. For example, you have the ability to slide the speaker close to the wall and take advantage of the boundary effect by plugging in the distance from the front wall. Another software feature is being able to time align an optional small subwoofer to deliver true full-range performance. Heard in the right room, this speaker is off-the-charts impressive and an absolute steal of a deal! Call me or email for a more in-depth technical explanation.
Magico A5
Magico released its flagship A-series in 2021. The A5 loudspeaker uses “trickle-down technology” from their their S and M series, the A series speakers are cut from the same cloth and cost tens of thousands less. A matching center (ACC), bookshelves (A1), and a smaller floor-standing speaker (A3) will round out the series.
Screen Innovation-Solo Pro 2 Motorized Screen
SVS SB3000 Sealed Subwoofer
The SVS SB3000 is the perfect subwoofer size to generate a plethora of output for nearly all larger listening rooms. It’s the ultimate sweet spot creating massive output, extension, and musicality. I’m a huge fan of sealed subs. Ported designs “overhang” signature doesn’t sit well with my ears. The included app-based adjustable frequency response helps integrate the sub with your room and speakers. This feature comes in handy for non-room correction applications. A big bonus is that the price is under 1/2 as compared to similar performance brands like JLAudio. What’s not to love?
